Directory Oversight Committee Overview Minimize

The AgGateway AGIIS Directory Oversight Committee (DOC) is charged with establishing policies and procedures in the operation of AGIIS, the industry recognized repository of common entity and product information.  This includes evaluating, prioritizing and executing enhancements; responding to subscriber and project requests; and overseeing the maintenance and care of the data in the directory.

DOC voting membership consists of council representatives and At Large members, each of whom serve three year terms.  Representatives of the AgGateway staff and of the AGIIS database hosting company sit on the DOC as non-voting members.  Non-voting advisory positions may also be created as needed.  Representatives should be very aware of the use of AGIIS and must be from a subscribing company.  Each AgGateway council may appoint up to two representatives to the DOC.  At Large members are nominated by the DOC and approved by the membership.  In the interests of conducting business efficiently, DOC meetings and conference calls are fully open only to DOC members or invitees.  Interested parties who would like to attend a meeting should obtain permission from the DOC Chair prior to that meeting and understanding that their participation may be limited.

News and Updates

The committee’s work goals and challenges for 2010 include: Continuing the evaluation and implementation of recommendations submitted by the Seed Council’s De-duplication Task Force; Enhancing the data and maintenance of the Product Directory; Developing and presenting a value proposition for the Product Directory; and Ensuring that project requests are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.  Several large projects, such as redesigning the AGIIS web site, are also on the docket for review during 2010.
