The Precision Ag Council of AgGateway will provide an antitrust umbrella as well as access to industry experts and the expertise that has been gained from standards development in Agriculture over the years.

Working together in the Precision Ag council will enable the industry to collaboratively identify, develop and promote a set of global industry standards, guidelines and implementation practices for precision ag with specific focus on the standards required to facilitate data sharing among value chain partners in the precision agronomic decision support segments of the industry. Of course, the devil is in the details so identifying the areas requiring standards/guidelines and then developing them is the hard work. The AgGateway process shows promise as a means to support development of precision ag industry standards. 

Mission

• It is the mission of the Precision Ag is to facilitate the development of industry standards, guidelines and implementation protocols to enhance the ability of end users to capture the value of the precision technologies and systems.
• Review the current state of the industry encompassing the entire precision ag value chain, identify issues and opportunities for collaboration.
• Determine the desire to create a Precision Ag Council and the next steps for the council development.

Goals & Objectives

• Identify and discuss the value of creating a Precision Ag Council within AgGateway to improve the industry interoperability moving forward.
• Accelerate the adoption of precision ag technologies and services by determining standards and guidelines to be identified, developed, adopted, implemented or enhanced.
