Eighty-seven participants representing 37 different member companies attended the 2nd annual AgGateway Committees, Council and Project Meeting (CCP) held in Indianapolis, IN June 15th - 17th. We were pleased to have 25 members who had not previously attended an AgGateway event participate in this year's conference.
The meeting agenda included 21 different working sessions for the various councils and committees that comprise the AgGateway Organization. Projects represented this year were the RFID and Tonage Tax projects. An informational meeting was held to discuss the formation of a new Retailer's Council. The retailers in attendance agreed to move forward with forming their own council which will be a welcomed addition to the organization. Dawn Cochran, CIO of the Property and Casualty - a division of CSC, spoke at the Lunch and Learn session held on Wednesday. She spoke on the use of social media within the business environment. Participants were asked to complete and turn in a survey at the end of the meetings. Results of the survey gave the meeting great reviews and indicated the working session format is valued by the members.
The conference committee would like to thank Dow Agro Sciences for hosting this meeting for the second year. Plans are underway for the 2011 CCP meeting and will be hosted by Mosaic Company in Plymouth, MN, outside of Minneapolis. Denise Nelsen of Mosaic has been named Chairperson for this event and Marcia Rhodus of Monsanto Company will serve as the Vice Chairman. The proposed dates for the conference are June 14-16, 2011.
