Thank you so much for joining us November 9-12, 2015 in beautiful San Antonio, Texas for our 2015 Annual Meeting and Conference. Kenneth Cordell, Jr.

President and CEO, Pinnacle Agriculture Holding LLC

Kenneth Cordell has been President and CEO of Pinnacle Agriculture since 2013. Pinnacle is an ag retail distribution business that acquires ag retail and wholesale businesses and implements key technologies with the goal of being the grower's most trusted and efficient source of crop inputs. Pinnacle provides growers with traditional as well as cutting-edge technology related to crop protection, seed, adjuvants and plant nutrition by working with key R&D and generic suppliers. Before joining Pinnacle, Cordell was CEO of United Agri Products, Inc. from 2003 to 2008 and was President, CEO and director of UAP Holding Corp. from 2004 to 2008. Cordell has also worked for the FMC Agricultural Products Group division of FMC Corporation, serving as Director of the North American Agricultural Products Group. He has held various positions in the agricultural divisions of Rohm & Haas Company and BASF Corporation.

Dr. Marty Matlock

Executive Director of the University of Arkansas Office for Sustainability, and Professor of Ecological Engineering in the Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department

Dr. Marty Matlock received his Ph.D. in Biosystems Engineering from Oklahoma State University, is a registered professional engineer, a Board Certified Environmental Engineer, and a Certified Ecosystem Designer. Matlock has co-authored three books and more than 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts. The focus of his research is development of technologies and processes to increase the resilience and effectiveness of human-dominated ecosystems. He works in urban, agricultural and rural systems to solve complex problems associated with land use, water quality, and ecosystem services. He works with ecologists, engineers, architects, social and political scientists, agricultural scientists, economists, and business leaders to create new understanding and framing of vexing ecosystem challenges.  His interdisciplinary work has been recognized by the leading organizations in architecture, landscape architecture, and sustainable design with over 25 national and international awards. He coordinates academic, research, outreach, and facilities efforts in sustainable systems across the University of Arkansas campus.  He has led numerous agricultural sustainability initiatives, from local to international in scope.   He serves on the US Secretary of Agriculture’s Committee for the 21st Century, Chairman of the Cherokee Nation Environmental Protection Commission, the Arkansas-Oklahoma Governor’s Commission for the Illinois River, and as sustainability science advisor for 12 food and agricultural product companies.

Steve Pitstick

Steve Pitstick Farms

Steve Pitstick is a progressive grower in Northern Illinois with more than 40 attempts to perfect intense management of his corn and soybean acres in his family business. Combining a passion for agronomics, business and technology, Steve works to bring innovative methods to his 2,500 acre row-crop farm.
As an early adopter of technology, Steve has a long track record of utilizing the latest and most innovative equipment and science available in the agricultural industry. He has shared his knowledge and collaborative approach with the following companies: Precision Planting, 360 Yield Center, Farmers Business Network and Climate Corporation. Steve is in his third year as a contributing Research Partner with Monsanto for developing and advancing FieldScripts. As a Farm Advisor to 640 Labs, which was acquired by Climate Corp/Monsanto in December 2014, Steve assisted with the development of a frictionless process to gather quality field data. Steve is currently President of the Illinois Ag Leadership Alumni Board, having completed the extensive program in 2000. The Illinois Ag Leadership Program provided a view to global agriculture practices on a trip to Egypt and Germany. 

Richard S. Sellers

Senior Vice President of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs, American Feed Industry Association

Richard Sellers joined AFIA in 1991 and was promoted to his current position in 2013. He holds a bachelor’s degree in animal sciences from the University of Memphis and master’s degree in animal sciences from the University of Arkansas. He oversees AFIA’s legislative and regulatory efforts. His responsibilities include interacting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, state feed control agencies, legislative bodies and providing comments to those agencies and information about those agencies to AFIA membership.

Previously, Sellers served as a Texas state feed control official. He is also a registered professional animal scientist. AFIA is the world’s largest organization devoted exclusively to representing the business, legislative and regulatory interests of the animal feed industry and its suppliers. Membership includes 575 domestic and international companies; state, national and regional associations. Firms are feed and pet food manufacturers, integrators, pharmaceutical companies, ingredient suppliers, equipment manufacturers and companies that supply other products, services and supplies to feed manufacturers. The feed industry makes a major contribution to food safety, nutrition and the environment. It plays a critical role in the production of meat, milk and eggs and provides abundant food at the lowest cost. More than 75 percent of the commercial feed in the United States is manufactured by AFIA members.
