Winning in Agriculture with eBusiness
by Rod Conner, President/CEO
As you read this column, we are on the eve of another AgGateway Annual Meeting and Conference. Appropriately, given that the conference is being held in Las Vegas, the theme chosen for this meeting is “Winning in Ag with eBusiness.”
Every year the conference committee is challenged with task of outdoing the conference from the year before. If you’ve been to an AgGateway Conference in the past, you know that’s a tall order. AgGateway is well known for the quality of its conferences. I attribute this not only to the quality of the people that are involved in the planning, but also to the principles on which they build the agenda.
Every speaker, meeting, and activity is focused on and dedicated to achieving our mission – to promote, enable, and expand eBusiness in Agriculture. That’s why our members became members, they know the value that eBusiness brings to their respective businesses and to the industry as a whole.
The second principle is that every person who attends the conference should return home to their company with valuable learning and ideas that will help their company improve their business, increase productivity and increase savings and revenue. The investment that you make in travel and the registration fee delivers value not only from the networking that goes on over the three days and from hearing interesting speakers, but we make it our goal that you take away more from the conference than you put in.
Take a look at the agenda and you’ll see the evidence of excellent planning and a slate of speakers that are relevant to enhancing your eBusiness strategy.
If we are honest, we know that in Vegas, most people who play the casino games don’t go home winners. Come to the AgGateway conference, focus on what you can take back home to improve your business and I guarantee you’ll leave a winner!
