The AgGateway Councils have had some discussions regarding future project ideas for connectivity and streamlining business processes.  Some of these ideas may possibly be a pilot format, full segment projects or cross segment projects (status below is as of 8/10/2010).

Crop Nutrition Council - The items below are future project ideas generated by the Crop Nutrition Connectivity (CNC) Project Board and Crop Nutrition Council. For more definition on some of these ideas, please click on the CN Future Project Ideas in the menu on the left.
·         Transportation  (LoadTender/BOL) — to improve the transmission of the data:

Such as Rail Carriers *Truck Carriers *Barge Carriers *Data Aggregators

·         Other messaging capabilities - CNC and others (AEC/Seed) consider the business processes where ebMS messaging or web services apply (such as Order Status, Shipment Status; or other request/receipt processes).

·         Electronic Remittance/Payments (multi-segments). Approved project - XRP, in Phase 2 (implementation).

·         Standardize customs documentation and process electronically with major brokers and transport providers on shipments that cross country borders.

·         3rd Party Inventory “Managers” – such as tank farms, warehouses, exchange partners, etc., that manage inventory on behalf of trading partners. This project also exploring other ways to communicate the information.  In the charter stage.

·         Extending the CNC project to other trading partners.

·         Contract Change and Contract Change Response for Crop Nutrient partners.  After the implementation of the transactions included in the CNC project  partners may revisit the Contract Change process.

·         Discuss Tonnage Tax reporting, registration and payment standardization with TFI and states tax departments to determine if electronic messages are feasible. In charter stage.

·         Standardize the way all subscribers sync their address data with AGIIS data. Utilize web service and processes for implementing new entities into internal databases from AGIIS.

·         Automate rail rate information into a standard format and distribute electronically to trading partners.

·         Automate the distribution of price list via XML (with other segments). The Product Cost Information (PCI) Project sponsored by the Crop Protection council has just completed Phase 1 (design) and in the commitment process for Phase 2 (implementation).

·         Transportation Security Administration (TSA): Determine what proactive measures for tracking/ monitoring of hazardous material shipments can be taken in order to head off forthcoming regulations.

·         Collaborative Forecasting—to be able to streamline process (standardize) with trading partners and updates.

·         Overall review of orders that are rejected electronically. Identify the reason, and then have the project review ways to reduce the amount of reason, thus rejections. Have the industry set a benchmark for others to meet.

·         Entities in AGIIS and whether they are registered in the state of tonnage tax (determines who pays the tonnage tax).
Crop Protection Council
·         Order Response and Order Change for Crop Protection. Once the Order Response and Order Change transactions in place for the CNC project, the CP Council may consider  incorporating in the Crop Protection processes using the processes that the CNC Project used.
