At one time, it was sufficient for selling companies to update and publish their product cost catalogs once a year for their buyers – distributors, dealers and retailers. Not any more. Increased geographic diversity and complexity of product cost information, coupled with the dynamic landscape of the Crop Protection, Turf and Ornamental and Seed industries, requires many updates throughout the season.
For buyers, interpreting and keying complex data into multiple business applications creates a higher risk for errors and intensive manual labor. The Product Cost Information (PCI) initiative addresses the need for sellers to electronically deliver the most up‐to‐date cost information to buyers throughout the season, timely, securely and accurately.Companies that have committed to Phase 1: Bayer CropScience, BASF Corporation, Crop Production Services, Dow AgroSciences, DuPont Crop Protection, GROWMARK, Inc., Helena Chemical, Monsanto Company, Rosen's, Inc., Syngenta Seed, Winfield Solutions and Wilbur-Ellis Company.
This project is sponsored by the Crop Protection Council to connect manufacturers with their distributors to transmit product cost information electronically. BASF, Bayer CropScience, Crop Production Services, Dow AgroSciences, DuPont Crop Protection, GROWMARK, Monsanto Company, Syngenta Crop Protection, Winfield Solutions and Wilbur-Ellis Company are committed to Phase 2- the implementation portion of the project.
