AgGateway's annual conference draws leading business and IT professionals to discuss ongoing initiatives to help companies better manage and use agricultural information. The conference features compelling educational sessions, general sessions that hit on state-of-the-industry topics in digital agriculture, and multiple networking breaks.

Conference highlights include:

  • Keynote speaker Iain Lennon, Director of Product Management for ProagricaLennon leads product strategy and R&D for Proagrica, and will speak to data and analytics solutions that combine data from agronomic, enterprise and supply chain systems.
  • General session speaker Dan Kelly, founder of The Negotiator Guru. Kelly is a global thought leader in advanced negotiation and IT strategic sourcing. His State of the CIO podcast is a platform for global IT leaders to discuss the changing role of technology in the business world.
  • General Session speaker Andrew Kennedy with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)'s New Era of Smarter Food Safety Program. He will speak on the New Era as a concept, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Section 204 proposed rule and its implications for AgGateway members.
  • General Session: AgGateway President & CEO Wendy Smith and AgGateway Chair Jeremy W. Wilson on AgGateway’s 2021 and 5-year plans.
  • IoT for Field Operations Data: Two sessions that discuss the use of IoT agriculture field data, and challenges and business opportunities for successful application. Open discussion of pinch points and the challenges organizations are facing. Session 1 is informational, while Session 2 aims to generate ideas for AgGateway working groups to collaborate on data interoperability solutions. Featuring Michael Finegan, Associate Vice President IoT Business Development for MultiTech, who provides a business/market overview of IoT and agriculture; and Dr. Wan Du, assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California, Merced, who provides a deeper look at some of the research going on to address problem areas as well as potential use cases.
  • A report on precision farming interoperability efforts in Europe, and their global applicability.
  • Soil and laboratory testing projects in the Latin America region, with implications for the ADAPT data model.
  • Compelling educational break-outs, and open “Meet-Up” sessions on crop nutrients, ag retail, seed connectivity, and more.
  • Virtual networking and a Virtual Expo Hall that attendees are encouraged to browse during dedicated time on the agenda.

The program is especially geared to ag retailers, distributors, manufacturers of ag inputs (e.g., seed, crop nutrition, crop protection) and specialty chemical products, and software and data service providers, as well as professionals in precision ag, academia, agricultural organizations, students and ag media.
