AgGateway Panel Shares Benefits of Digital Ag in Canada

By AgGateway Executive VP Brent Kemp

AgGateway members were privileged to share the message of collaboration and interoperability with attendees of the 2020 annual conference of the Canadian Association of Agri-Retailers (CAAR), in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, in February.

Jordan Kuhns (GROWMARK), Ryan Adams (Nutrien), Taylor Wildeman (WinField United Canada) and Brent Kemp (AgGateway) shared the stage for an hour-long panel discussion on the value of collaboration and standards in the ag retail space. The panel discussed how to develop a strategy for implementing electronic connectivity and the importance of knowing – and being willing to fix – your internal processes to prepare for system integration. The group also discussion what to consider when picking partners for implementation.

The attendees were engaged and challenged, with several conversations picking up after the panel concluded. The panel shared the video developed by AgGateway seed, ag retail and allied provider members, which received a positive reception. The team also shared details on AgGateway’s active crop protection connectivity initiative in Canada, and how to join.

Presentation opportunities like this one are great ways to share the good work AgGateway members are doing, to encourage new implementation and bring awareness of AgGateway to prospective members. A big "thank you" to CAAR Executive Director Mitch Rezansoff for the invitation, and to GROWMARK, Nutrien and WinField United Canada for their participation at the conference!
