Traction Seeks to Broaden Integration and Interoperability

AgGateway welcomes Traction, a startup FMIS provider dedicated to software technology for improving financial processes, operational records and agronomy information. While Traction was formed in March 2020, for more than 25 years the team that formed the company has helped farmers around the globe with farm accounting, field operations, precision farming data, agronomy, soil sampling and other farm-related data.

Co-Founder and Marketing Director Brian Stark believes that the struggles farmers experience is often related to time sorting through accounting records, spreadsheets or other complicated applications— none of which are integrated.

“Traction’s cloud-based platform keeps all the farm data integrated in one place, giving farmers what they need, when they need it,” he said. “Our goal today remains the same as it did years ago: Help farmers spend less time entering data by automating workflows and integrating existing systems, resulting in data-driven decisions and more profits.”

That sentiment is very familiar to AgGateway members! In fact, Stark said Traction joined AgGateway because the company is interested in the adoption of standards that make data exchange and, ultimately, analysis easier. This includes interest in lab data standards, the ADAPT data model and applicable product and location identifiers, to name a few.

“We also hope to contribute to AgGateway our experiences with developing beyond major agricultural companies – expanding eConnectivity resources more broadly throughout the industry,” Stark said.

Welcome Traction!
