Focus on Seed Traceability, Climate Data and Connectivity

By José Alexandre Loyola, AgGateway Latin America Regional Director

We welcomed two important new members in April, who will certainly collaborate and add a lot to AgGateway’s activities in the Latin America region:

  • AgriHub: This is a Brazilian innovation network in agriculture and livestock, which identifies the problems of rural producers and connects them to start-ups, mentors, technology companies, researchers and investors to develop solutions and promote the best adjustment of technologies to the field in the State of Mato Grosso.
  • BPSAP: The Brazilian Association of Companies Providing Services in Precision Agriculture.

We held a productive member meeting in early April. Members discussed and evaluated topics for new projects that we will focus on in 2021. A particular focus was data standardization in three key areas: seed traceability, climate data and connectivity. New member AgriHub presented initiatives they have been working on in these areas. Separately, AgGateway’s Member Services department gave an overview of its services to members, establishing a direct communication channel with AgGateway members who are active in Latin America.
