AgGateway’s Work Enables Innovation

We live in an interconnected world. Obvious, right? Input shortages, severe weather, transportation constraints, and similar events often put our industry in the spotlight, especially when food insecurity results.

As the world grapples with the implications of such problems as it seeks solutions, agriculture stakeholders look to address topics like sustainability, traceability, climate, and ethical practices. Many increasingly turn to data as the tool to demonstrate that supply chain and field operations activities do not harm and perhaps help. And as they do, they turn to us at AgGateway for perspective. April Portfolio Update

March was a great month for the Portfolio Management Center. We got to experience several examples of how digital resources developed by AgGateway are being adopted to solve problems in the industry.

Meanwhile, progress by Working Groups has been encouraging and led to several new people signing up for a seat at the table. This is a clear sign that the industry recognizes the value of the work we are doing and people want to participate and help resolve some of these long standing interoperability issues. Read more >

A Little Maintenance Makes a Big Difference

Well, I finally knocked out that project I have been putting off all winter long. For months, I would tell my wife, “I sure would like to redo the home office!” But I kept putting it off and putting it off. Finally, after talking about it for months, she casually says to me, “It’s supposed to be rainy and cold all weekend. Why don’t you get started on your office?” The next morning, I hit the hardware store, got my supplies, and got to painting! Read more >


Mid-Year Meeting

Mid-Year Meeting Preliminary Agenda Available

The AgGateway Conference Committee is pleased to share the preliminary agenda for the 2023 Mid-Year Meeting, June 12-15, at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa.

The 2023 agenda features a track of sessions on Monday afternoon earmarked for first-time attendees, beginning with an orientation lunch. "We want anyone new to the meeting to have a clear understanding of the organization, its offerings, and the structure of the conference so they can gain as much out of the experience as possible," says Jeremy Wilson, AgGateway North American Director and COO. "They will also be able to network with staff and leading volunteers, as well as other professionals who are new to AgGateway." Read more >


Latin America Region Update

April Meeting Celebrates Five Years in AgGateway

Members of the AgGateway Latin America Region will host an organizational meeting on April 28, coinciding with Agrishow, the country’s largest agricultural event of the year. Agrishow features leading machinery, input, and technology companies that use the event to showcase their products and solutions. AgGateway President and CEO Brent Kemp will be in attendance. Europe Region Update

Working Group to Review ADAPT Applicability to European Reporting

Last month, AgGateway Europe hosted a virtual meetup to discuss how ADAPT might fill data reporting gaps that currently exist between major systems currently in use on the continent. Organizations are feeling the pressure from potential new regulations on the horizon, which would require additional reporting by farmers through a system that is not fully optimized. Read more >

ARA Brazil Mission Offers Opportunity to Learn, Connect

The Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) is offering its members the opportunity to engage with retailers and trading partners in Brazil this summer, and we are reaching out to encourage AgGateway members who also belong to ARA to consider attending this mission. Read more >
