How We Work in 2020

As reported in last month’s newsletter, AgGateway is currently implementing its new digital resource development process as part of the transition to AgGateway 2020. We’ve talked quite a bit about what the new structure for AgGateway looks like beginning on January 1. In this article we’ll look more closely at how members and staff will work together and move ideas and projects forward within that structure. AgGateway’s AGIIS Modernization Enhancements Update

Is there a veteran AgGateway leader whose work you've really admired at AgGateway? It may be someone on the Strategic or Operations Board, or within your council, committee or project team that you think goes above and beyond the call of duty, and really keeps things moving. Finally, is this someone who has been involved with AgGateway for at least two years as a member volunteer (not staff), and has he or she demonstrated their leadership in more than one place, on more than one activity?

AgGateway was an exhibitor and participated in many fruitful discussions during this year’s InfoAg Conference and Expo in St. Louis last month. Here’s one media clip, penned by the Agricultural Data Coalition, that mentions how the word is spreading on AgGateway work.

InfoAg 2019: Farm Data Use Moving from Early Adopters to Mainstream; PrecisionAg.org, August 1, 2019 — Multiple sessions mentioned AgGateway’s ADAPT open source effort and the progress that is being made toward solving interoperability issues in modern farming. These sessions all highlighted the increasing amount of information coming in as well as the reduced barriers to using all the data from hurdles like file formats.
