Mid-Year Meeting Checklist

By Paul Schrimpf, Marketing and Communications Director

The AgGateway Mid-Year Meeting in Altoona, IA is just six weeks away, so now is the time to start planning your meeting experience. Agriculture events across the country have been recording significant attendance numbers so far this year, and after a highly active and productive winter and spring for AgGateway Working Groups and Committees, we are expecting a strong turnout in Iowa this summer.

To help you plan, here’s a checklist of activities, opportunities, and things to know:

Review Agenda. Some changes have been made to the traditional conference flow this year, so set some time aside to dig into the agenda. There will be a conference app released about a week before the conference opens to make scheduling meetings a snap.

  • More Attention to First Time Attendees. To ensure that individuals and members who are new to AgGateway can get the most benefit from their conference experience, we’ve shifted our orientation program to Monday, June 12 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Included in the program are overviews of the organization and how collaboration happens and available tools, overviews of two of our core digital resources, AGIIS and ADAPT, and a first time attendee lunch to encourage networking and interaction.
  • Meeting Facilitation Workshop. On Tuesday morning from 8:00 – 10:00, Marylin Hunter returns to AgGateway to lead a high-value workshop on meeting facilitation.
  • Keynote Presentation. Tuesday morning’s general session will feature Jonah Kolb, president of Moore & Warner Ag Group, who will deliver a presentation titled, The Impact of Absentee Owners: Aligning Data and Sustainability Programs for Future Success.
  • Quick Connect Program. The highly successful Quick Connect program allows you to meet one-on-one with software manufacturers and trading partners about implementing digital connectivity tools and messages. Information on signing up for Quick Connect sessions will be released in the weeks ahead.

Sponsorships Still Available. If your organization is interested in supporting the Mid-Year Meeting through sponsorship, there are still a number of high-value opportunities. Click here to download the brochure.
