We’re pleased to announce that Bruno Lucio of Topcon was elected to serve as Chair of the Latin America Steering Committee for 2021, and Warsis Slywitch of Tecgraf was elected as Vice-Chair. Our thanks to you both for your leadership!

Last month we held the first meeting of 2021 of the Latin America region. AgGateway Portfolio Manager Dan Berne presented an overview of the structure of our Digital Resource Center and Portfolio Management Center to participants, as well as a summary of the projects that are currently being developed in North America and Europe.

The Soil Data Standardization Working Group also met in February. The group decided to set up a meeting with several segments involved in soil analysis, to present the scope of the project and to get feedback, so that all the links in the soil data chain are involved and supportive of our initiative. These include soil analysis laboratories, and their quality analysis entities; technology companies that use soil analysis data, and precision agriculture service providers.

The meetings will be coordinated by Ronaldo Oliveira (who serves as project chair) with the support of myself and the other members of the working group.
