LATAM Region — Events and Outreach

By Jose Loyola, LATAM Region Director

On October 4, AgGateway Latin America held a member meeting in São Paulo/SP at Cubo Itaú, one of the most famous Innovation Hubs in Brazil. We were able to get a full immersion in the work of this organization, and learned about the businesses of three of the startups that are hosted at Cubo.

We also discussed ongoing projects – Soil and Climate Laboratory Data – and a proposal for a new project suggested by Nutrien also related to soil analysis data. We also sat in on two lectures. The first was with Rafael Peluco, who presented on data interoperability in the Group São Martinho, the two largest sugarcane producing groups. The second lecture featured Professor Antonio Luis Santi (UFSM), who spoke on the past, present and future of data interoperability in Brazil, providing context on the evolution of this topic in our region.

On October 5, I represented AgGateway Latin America at the AgTech Meeting event, promoted by our member AgTech Garage in Piracicaba. I got to participate in some presentations on innovation and trends in the sector, in addition to prospecting new members such as Perfect Flight. Baldan also expressed interest in obtaining more information about AgGateway.

Later this month, I will be representing AgGateway Latin America at the Agritechnica Conference in Hannover, Germany. The event runs from the 12th to the 18th of November, our Regional Director José Loyola will be representing the Latin America region, at Agritechnica (largest Agricultural Machinery fair in the world) in Hannover - Germany, where AgGateway will be present with a stand.
