I’ve been revisiting some quick reads from my bookshelf, including “The Question Behind the Question”, by John G. Miller. The book promotes personal accountability within the context of participating in a business, though it could be any relational, group effort – a sports team, a charitable cause, or a family. LATAM Region | August Meetings Review and Look Ahead

On August 1st, 20 members of the Latin America region held a meeting at the Instituto Eldorado in Campinas. The Instituto Eldorado is a renowned private research institute which serves agribusiness and other important business sectors such as telecommunications and automotive by developing systems and testing equipment to validate quality standards, among other activities. ASABE Harvest Data Standard Addresses Some Common Conundrums in Yield Analysis

The ASABE Precision Agriculture Technical Committee (MS-54) recently announced that has developed and released a new National Standard relevant to several different projects within AgGateway. The official title of the standard is ANSI/ASABE S611 JUN2023 Collecting, Processing, and Visualizing Geographic Harvest Data, and it addresses some of the common headaches the industry encounters with yield data files, both from the OEM manufacturer perspective of generating yield files as well as for FMIS or software companies that receive and analyze yield data. Retail Member Perspective: Growmark’s Zach Leiser

Among many responsibilities he has at Growmark, Zach Leiser, Senior Agronomy Portfolio Technology Manager, works with his team to help cooperative members make best decisions about their implementation of technology. He’s also intimately involved in Growmark’s efforts to establish what they call “good, clean Grower-Farm-Field boundary structure” that advance efficiency, agronomy, and customer service. Leiser answered some questions about Growmark’s field boundary initiative, and AgGateway’s role in bringing stakeholders to the table to share ideas and develop standards. Read more >
