Brazilian Agriculture Gathers as AgGateway Celebrates Five Years in LATAM

By Jose Loyola, AgGateway Latin America Director

It was our pleasure to welcome AgGateway President and CEO Brent Kemp to join us in Brazil for our April 28 in-person member meeting at the offices of member organization Venturus in Campinas. He was also on hand to celebrate the five year anniversary of AgGateway in the Latin American region. Brent closed the day with a presentation on AgGateway’s ongoing projects in all regions, and congratulated the group for its commitment to the actions developed and implemented over the past half decade. Everyone received a special gift from AgGateway, and enjoyed a custom-made anniversary cake.

For the remainder of his stay, Brent and I fulfilled an intense agenda of meetings with entities and members such as Tecgraf, AgNest, Venturus, Embrapa Agricultura Digital and ANDAV (National Association of Distributors of Agricultural and Veterinary Inputs) in Campinas, and Cooperativa Agrícola Coplacana, Advance Hub and the AgTech Garage in Piracicaba.

We also visited one of the largest agricultural fairs in Latin America, Agrishow, a five day event featuring 800 exhibiting brands and a record audience of 195,000 people in Ribeirão Preto, Sao Paolo. Attendees had the opportunity to visit the stands of several members, including Jacto, Cygni, Topcon, CNH Industrial, John Deere, AGCO, Climate, Xarvio, Syngenta Digital, and AgLeader, as well as prospect companies such as Agres, Metos, Agrosystem, Stara, Climatempo, Lindsay and Trimble.

Certainly, this visit added a lot for Brent and also for us here in the region. We were able to show a little of the reality and potential of Brazilian agribusiness and the opportunities we have, as an entity, to continue developing interoperability and data standardization in agriculture here in Latin America.
